Last Sunday we spent time as a church reflecting on a very basic principle of life: we give generously to the things and people we love. We were challenged by King David's love for God that overflowed with abundant generosity, and God's love for us which overflowed with abundant generosity in sending his Son to die for us.
We also celebrated the abundant generosity that we've seen in our church with some of our buckets overflowing, and others having increased 10 fold over the past 10 years. We do this because we love God and must do whatever we can so that more and more people can be connected to the life, love and freedom found in Jesus.
I am super thankful for your generosity and the way so many of you are worshipping God with your money.
Coming up this Sunday is Commitment Day. It's a chance to make your commitment to give to the work of the gospel next year.
I'd like to encourage you to do 3 things before this Sunday:
- Have a listen to the message from last Sunday if you missed it.
- Pray, asking God to show you how much you can give to support the ministry of our church in 2017.
- Complete your My Commitment card and bring it along to church on Sunday, 12 November. Alternatively, complete it online here.
- Start giving with a joyful heart now.
I'm looking forward to this Sunday, and can't wait to see you there.
