The Flame of Intimacy
Posted: 23 June 2017
It's been wonderful to hear from so many of you about how God is speaking to you through this series in Song of Songs. On Monday, I received this email:
I found last night awesome and I am so glad that I came along. I felt the sermon helped restore a healthy view of sex as a part of a wider commitment in marriage. The connection of being fully loved and fully known is one that resonates with me deeply. I found it also really helpful to hear how even in marriage, people can be frustrated with sex and it's not a perfect fix all remedy loneliness and unfulfilled desire.
I'm hoping you are finding this part of God's word as encouraging, healing and challenging as my friend has.
This Sunday we are looking at the only direct teaching in the Song about love:
love is as strong as death,
its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
It burns like blazing fire,
like a mighty flame. (Song 8:6)
I've called the sermon The Flame of Intimacy, and I can't wait to share with you.
Also this week, we're going to be watching an interview we filmed with Stephen and Tracey Mason who reflect on their 28 years of marriage.
