Why Serve?
It’s our hope that everyone who calls Vine home would serve in at least one ministry and grow in humility, servant heartedness and kingdom effectiveness.
Every week at Vine Church hundreds of people use their God-given gifts to build the church and connect people to the life, love and freedom Jesus offers. As we serve, the Holy Spirit is at work in and through us so that is not just us doing a job, but God working through us with supernatural power. We want to honour all the teams that are involved in helping us connect people to Jesus and encourage you to be praying for all our ministry teams.
Once you have gone through Onboard, we would love for you to start serving. We are not looking for jobs to be done. We want to connect you with a role you have been designed for given your abilities, gifting, and passion – all towards fulfilling our mission as a church.
There are a bunch of ways to serve others and help us connect more people to the life, love and freedom Jesus offers. Here are some of our ministries.
Mission Teams
Explore Courses Team
The explore team exists to provide a welcoming and hospitable environment where people can explore the claims of Jesus at our three explore courses: Christianity Explored, Alpha and Life Series.

The Bread of Life team exist to provide a hot breakfast, Bible study and warm welcome to people on the margins of our city.

Host Team
The host team exists to connect every newcomer into the life of Vine Church and to provide a warm and personal experience for everyone at church each Sunday.

Onboard Team
The Onboard team exists to help people who are new join our mission in connecting 1,000 people to the life, love and freedom Jesus offers.

The cafe team exists to contribute to a strong sense of community and togetherness before and after church each service by providing excellent hospitality.

Community Group Leaders
Community Group leaders exist to see their group growing in community together through reading the Bible, prayer, and fellowship. They’re passionate about encouraging, equipping, and empowering others to delight in Jesus and be on mission together.

Community Group hosts exist to provide a hospitable and friendly space for their community group to meet in. They're passionate about opening their home to others and investing in a tight-knit and gospel-focused groups of people doing life together.

The Women's Ministry team exists to help invest in the growing community and discipleship of women. This includes overseeing and organising teaching and outreach events, 1:1 partnerships, prayer and gathering for women's community groups

Next Gen
Vine Kids Creche
The creche team exists to care for babies in our church and give their parents the opportunity to engage in church without distraction.

Vine Kids Preschool
The preschool team sets a gospel foundation for kids aged 2-5, teaching them the gospel in a fun and safe environment.

The youth team exists to help our teenagers live for Jesus and share the gospel with more and more youth in our city.

Scripture in Schools
The scripture in schools (or Special Religious Education (SRE)) team exists to teach the Bible to primary school kids in local schools so they know the God who made them and offers eternal life.

Communications Team
The communications team exists to communicate what God is doing among us to our members and our local community via our graphic design, website and social media.

The photography team exists to show the warmth of our community to people looking for a new church and remind us of the joy we get from gathering together.
