Passing on the message: joy in salvation

Posted: 30 November 2018

Jonathan Swift once famously said:

“We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another.”

That line could sum up the problem in the life of Jonah.  His hatred ate away at the walls of his soul. Nowhere is that more clear than in Jonah 4:3:

“Now, O LORD, take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live."

Growing up hearing the story of Jonah, I thought that he ran away because he was scared of the big bad Ninevites. Turns out it wasn’t the Ninevites he was afraid of, it was God's mission to save the lost he was afraid of.

Come this Sunday as we wrap up our vision series by looking at the joy of joining God in his mission to save the world.

Also at the end of the service there will be a chance to share what God has been teaching you and how you've been encouraged during the series. Please come ready to share.

P.s. This Sunday is the last moment you can pledge your financial commitment to church for the next year. You can pledge online here or via the cards on Sunday.
