Resources for sharing your faith

Posted: 13 February 2014

We all find it hard to make the most of opportunities to share our faith. Here are some helpful resources to get better at sharing Jesus with our friends and family. Below our MTS Apprentice Mike Wziontek walks us through three books which will help you share your faith with others.

Out of the Saltshaker and into the World by Rebecca Manley Pippert

In this book Pippert shows how we are called to be the salt of the earth, not merely stay inside the salt shaker with other Christians. She writes in an honest way, sharing her own struggles to share her faith but yet inspires us to see sharing the good news as part of everyday day life.

The Master Plan of Evangelism by Dr Robert E Coleman

This short classic shows us how we can learn from the Master of Evangelism, Jesus. It’s not just about memorizing fancy diagrams or elaborate tracts, but rather speaking the gospel in the context of a life shared with a few neighbours in an authentic way, as Christ did. Coleman shows us how often we try and overcomplicate sharing Jesus with others, when in fact the answer is ironically in Jesus himself. This book is chocked full of bible to show us how we can apply Jesus’s principles today. It’s a really helpful easy to read book focused on Jesus.

Just Walk Across the Room by Bill Hybels

Similar to The Master Plan of Evangelism, Hybels goes back to look at Jesus to look at how to share our faith with people we are in relationship with. Hybels combines stories of his own experience with the model that Jesus used to produce this easy to read extremely practical book that will give you more confidence in sharing the gospel with people.
