Enrich Your Marriage at Vine Church
At Vine Church we want to see healthy, committed and thriving marriages. This day is uniquely designed to give couples a chance to stop and focus on their marriage and how to make it better.
Saturday, 7 September
9am – 1pm
Vine Church, Surry Hills
cnr Albion + Flinders Streets
It’s a chance to reconnect, re-establish the foundation and rekindle romance. There is time to spend reflecting on God’s vision for marriage, and learning or refreshing skills that will help build a marriage that lasts a lifetime.
“Marriages don’t grow simply because both spouses age. Growth is intentional, demanding and utterly surprising. It requires space and time. It will not happen without the focus of a gardener who tends, nurtures, weeds, waters and then repeats the same process endlessly. Growth happens because it is desired”. — Dan B. Allender
What to expect?
The day is run by Toby Neal (Lead Pastor) and his wife Liz. They have been married for just over 20 years. They have also had the joy of walking with over 38 engaged couples helping them prepare well for marriage.
Toby will share personally the things they have found helpful in our their marriage and expand on some of the material they use in counselling engaged and married couples at church. There will be some really helpful input and exercises which we will use from The Gottman Institute.
You will be given ample time to spend with your partner to discuss how you can be: learning more about each other and growing in intimacy; planting seeds of love and pulling out the weeds of anger, and building habits to sustain love through the seasons of marriage.
The day is open to couples outside our church community. While the Bible will inform parts of the sessions, the focus will be on practical skills anyone could implement to strengthen their marriage.
