While you’re welcome at all of our three services, we’d probably recommend you give our 4.30pm service a try first — it’s a great fit for young adults, including uni students, young professionals, and creatives. Afterward, we often head to the pub for dinner, where the conversation continues.
But if 9.15am or 11.15am works better for you, we’d love to have you join us there too!
Our services usually run for 70-90mins.
There is no need to dress up or wear something special. Most people wear what they would when going to the pub or out for a movie.
No, but if you have a Bible you will benefit from bringing it. We use the NIV 2011 for the Bible reading.
No, you can come and observe if you like. If you are not following Jesus the only thing we would ask of you is to open your eyes and consider what Jesus has to say. If you are following Jesus and join our church, we will encourage you to come along to Onboard to find out more about what it looks like to belong at Vine Church. Jesus and church is free for all, there is no expectation for our visitors to contribute.
There is plenty of street parking available on Sundays. Alternatively you can park at St Margarets Car Park for $2/hour on weekends. We’re not too far from Central Station,
We know that walking into a church can be nerve – racking. We don’t expect everyone to be Christian, in fact we love that many are coming to check out Jesus for the first time.
While Vine Church doesn’t directly arrange accommodation, we’re happy to connect you with others in our community who might know of shared housing opportunities. Many of our members are students or young professionals, so you may find useful tips or even potential housemates.
We have students who have moved from country towns and big cities. So whether you’re from Bathurst, Wollongong, London, China or the United States, we’d love to help you connect and find a home with us in Sydney.
Get in touch with us, and don’t forget our offer to meet up for Yo-chi or Messina – our shout!

What to expect during a Sunday service:
We come together on Sundays as one family to celebrate what God has done for us in Jesus. You can expect a time of prayer and singing to God, teaching on the Bible, plus an opportunity to meet others who are exploring life with Jesus. Every service is a little different, with it’s own culture and style but there are some things that are common across all services. Here is what to expect at every church service.
Music
Our services start and end with singing, led by our music teams. We work hard at keeping our music engaging, Godward and soul stirring.
You are welcome to join in or just listen, whichever you are most comfortable with.
Teaching
We have a talk from the Bible every week that has a focus on following Jesus. We believe God still speaks personally and practically every time we open the Bible, and that by listening and applying what we hear, God will change our lives.
You can expect someone to read the Bible and teach from it for about 30 mins.
Prayer
We are a church who wants to depend on God for everything, thank him and bring our requests to him. Small elements of prayer are spread throughout our services as we respond to God’s word, and there will be a focused moment in which we pray about our world, nation, global partners or some other specific thing.
You will not be asked to pray out loud but we invite you to join by listening & reflecting as someone leads us in prayer.
What to expect after the service
We are keen to help you connect at church, or give you space — whatever you need. In the mornings we spend time after the service in our beautiful church grounds where an amazing morning tea is provided. In the afternoons we have a light supper after the service in the church, then head out to a local pub for dinner and a drink.
We are a social lot. But if you just want to come and observe before getting plugged in, that’s cool with us also.
