About our speakers
Mark Stephens
Mark is a very thoughtful, intelligent and gifted communicator, effectively bringing the bible and culture together to make the gospel clear, especially for people who are skeptical. He is a lecturer at Sydney Bible and Missionary College; and has written many essays and opinion articles in his work as a Research Fellow for the Centre of Public Christianity
Stephen McAlpine
Steve is a gifted communicator and passionate about helping Christians to confidently share the good news of Jesus in a secular time that has never seemed so hostile to the gospel, but never been so open to it either. Steve has a background in journalism and three decades experience pastoring. You can read some of Steve’s work here.
Toby Neal
Toby began Vine Church in 2011 with the conviction that Jesus Christ has not stopped being relevant, even if inner city people might say they are not interested in religion. Toby is an engaging preacher as he draws together insights from culture, arts and film to help show the benefits and beauty of the gospel.

What is Easter all about?
Easter is more than just a four-day long weekend; it’s an event that changed the world.
Most Australians love a good holiday, and Easter is one of the best with its long weekend. While many have drifted from its spiritual meaning, Easter remains a key Christian celebration, marking the death and resurrection of Jesus.
In a world that often leaves us questioning, Easter invites us to pause and reflect on the profound impact and evidence of Jesus’ life.
Click on the links below and read through the biographical accounts of Jesus’ final days:
- Jesus arrives in Jerusalem
- Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane
- Jesus facing Roman Crucifixion
- Jesus and the empty tomb
This isn’t just a story of the past; it’s one that reshapes our lives today!
