We know that walking into a church can be nerve – racking. We don’t expect everyone to be Christian, in fact we love that many are coming to check out Jesus for the first time.
At our meetings you’ll find a group of people who live and work in the city and come together to learn of the life, love and freedom that Jesus offers. If you are not familiar with church, our meetings are very relaxed and you will always find a warm welcome.
You won’t be asked to say or do anything that you’re uncomfortable with. There will be live music, prayers, Bible reading and a sermon during the service. Afterwards there will be a chance to stick around for good food and conversation. We are a social lot, but if you need space, that’s cool with us also.
Our services usually run for 80mins. However on Christmas Day we keep the 9.30am service to under 60minutes, to give you plenty of time to get to Christmas lunch with your friends or family.
There is no need to dress up or wear something special. Most people wear what they would when going to the pub or out for a movie. Because it is Christmas we expect to see some novelty hats and extra sparkles, especially at our 4pm Christmas Eve Service, where we will have a Christmas Selfie Frame for you to snap a happy festive photo.
No, but if you have a Bible you will benefit from bringing it. We use the NIV 2011 for the Bible reading.
No, you can come and observe if you like. If you are not following Jesus the only thing we would ask of you is to open your eyes and consider what Jesus has to say. If you are following Jesus and join our church, we will encourage you to come along to Onboard to find out more about what it looks like to belong at Vine Church. Jesus and church is free for all, there is no expectation for our visitors to contribute.
There is plenty of street parking available on Sundays and Public Holidays. Alternatively you can park at St Margarets Car Park for $2/hour on weekends.
Absolutely. YES! Jesus loves kids and so do we. Cooing, crying and cheering is all part of being a family, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Both the 4pm Christmas Eve and 9.30am Christmas Day services feature our Vine Kids program for Primary school-aged kids and younger. Kids start in the service, then head to their programs with games and fun activities, as they learn from the Bible. We have trained volunteer leaders ready to care for your children this Christmas.
Over Christmas Vine Youth takes a break, but we encourage high-schoolers to join in with the other big kids by staying in the main church auditorium.
Definitely. We love kids and expect prams and noise when they are present.
We’re expecting a full house, so here are three tips to help make the most of your experience:
✨ Keep little ones on your lap when you can.
✨ Squash together, leave aisle seats free for late arrivals.
✨ Bringing a pram? For bubs over 6 months, please leave it in the foyer, this will just allow more space for other guests.
Please ask one of our welcoming team if you’re feeling unsure where to be or what to be doing, they’d love to help make you feel at home.
